Spring flowers that last forever can be found in 3 new necklaces joining the A.F.F. Jewelry Collection this week. Created by Betty, these handmade designs feature colorful enameled floral pendants.

Each pendant features sparkling crystals from Swarovski. The colors are rich and fresh – reminding one of a beautiful Spring garden.

Betty calls this crystal adorned silver  chain design – April Remembered.

I love the tiny purple flower that hangs below the assorted green leaves.

Mom is an avid Oregon gardener (that means you work and enjoy it between rain showers). I know her heart skipped a beat when she found this pendant.

Fluttering among assorted flowers in pink, purple and blue, the brilliant blue butterfly almost looks real.

Welcome to our Grand Opening

Today we officially opened the Adornable Anklets store at Etsy. Just a few one-of-a-kind anklets are in the store now but lots more will be posted over the next several days. I just couldn’t wait to share these fun designs! All the new designs are very affordable because we think you should own several! You can wear a single one or double or even triple them up for a really dramatic effect. The Adornable Anklets are designed for durability. Most designs are created with a study silver-plated over steel chain and secured with a durable lobster claw clasp. The individual charms, drops and dangles are secured by wire-wrapping whenever the design allows. We love sparkle and think that anklets should have plenty! Because everyone must look down to see your adorned ankle – extra sparkle is a welcome feature. Our Adornable Anklets are filled with crystals and faceted beads to catch the light.

A Little Charm

Charms are a favorite of the gals of Rose of Sharon Jewelry so you’ll find charms of pewter, silver-plated and even sterling silver. Enameled charms are a real plus as they add a pop of color as they swing and sway.

Favorite Themes

Themes such as hearts, flowers, love and happiness will be well represented throughout the collection. We’d also love to hear about your favorite themes as we are working to create a comprehensive collection for the 2010 summer season. Spring parties can be a great occasion to show off a new dress and why not a new necklace from Rose of Sharon Jewelry!

I’ve tucked away my winter jewelry (necklaces that work with sweaters or heavier denim outfits) and am making some new pieces to match some favorite bright floral shirts.

Some women love lingerie. We love clasps. The right clasp is a critical design element for the Rose of Sharon Jewelry artists. I’ve actually had a necklace that sat unfinished for over a year because I was searching for just the right clasp! Clasps (like lingerie) aren’t always shown but that doesn’t mean they are unimportant. They hold everything together (and up) and they can be a “special” source for a personal smile. Other clasps must be shown. Sweep up your hair, wear the clasp on the side or show it off in front! Here are a few of our favorite clasps found on our original necklace or bracelet designs. When you’re shopping the Rose of Sharon Jewelry site, you’ll find clasp photos on the individual product pages. This sterling silver clasp features  faceted lilac colored amethysts. This screw type clasp is simple but adds some elegant sparkle to this deep red necklace. Handcrafted in Thailand, this antiqued sterling silver clasp has intricate scroll work. The ornate swirls in this sterling silver hook and eye clasp works reveal its craftsmanship. A romantic heart and key toggle clasp is a lovely choice for the romantic necklace – Completely Jaded. Betty’s True Heart Necklace has tiny pink flowers within the black lampwork beads so she repeated this subtle theme in the golden hook and eye clasp. Completely Jaded features a beautiful lilac and white hand carved Jade flower which tiny beads were added to recreate the stamen.

 

 

 

 

 

Mandarin Magic started with this vivid  dichroic glass pendant in orange with flicks of gold. Betty just had to buy this one during a trip to Quartzsite, AZ.

The finished necklace is a bold, joyful design.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The gals of Rose of Sharon Jewelry have connected with artisans from around the world. From Thailand, we purchased this magnificent antiqued sterling silver orchid. The center was darker (handmade means no two are exactly alike) so the name Black Orchid grabbed us.

 

This simulated Asian themed cinnabar in turquoise captured my attention and heart. As I collect Asian artifacts. Only later did I discover that what is known as cinnabar today is actually a simulation created from a durable resin. You see the actual Cinnabar stone has toxic properties and is no longer made into jewelry!

Although it’s not real Cinnabar, this large pendant is ornately decorated with Chinese characters and symbols. I added some ornate sterling silver beads and a wonderful strand of natural freshwater pearls.

Maiden of the Mist was a find that I passed on to Sandra Lee to design with. By working together, we are assured that our work doesn’t become “stale”. Well she took this carved bone face set in sterling silver and transformed it into a truly magnificent necklace.
