Christian Cross Necklaces

“I spent the past few winters with my brother and his wife in Yuma, Arizona. Our mutual interests in jewelry-making took us into Mexico regularly to scope out locally made silver beads. I discovered a small vendor with wonderful selection of sterling silver crosses. He was hesitant to deal much until he realized I was interested in over a dozen different designs.

We also spent weekends in Quartzsite, AZ where the annual rock and bead show attracts thousands to the fair-like atmosphere. Assorted vendors, who personally traveled around the globe, offered more unique interpretations of the “old rugged” cross.”

As a Christian, I enjoy being able to share my faith through my creativity.  My collection of crosses has grown significantly so I’ll be able to create  beautiful original works for some time.

 The soft green Jade of this cross suits the name – Everlasting Peace. Green is such a wonderfully peaceful color.

My favorite silver cross features a crown. The bold design is offset with a lovely open sterling silver chain.

The white topaz gemstone adoring the sterling silver cross is so lovely. This necklace I call Morning Star.

“A dear friend was admiring an assortment of cross necklaces I was packing to take to Sharon’s house when she asked if I could make a rosary for a gift.

I’m fond of the beautiful hematite and gold crucifixes and matched them with different beautiful beads. Each hand wired rosary has a wonderful feel in the hand. Each twist of wire represents patience and faith.”  - Betty

I’ll be devoting August to listing these fabulous creations and getting our giant watch promotion ready for Christmas buying.

A Catholic friend asked Betty about handmade rosaries last Spring.  Mom loved making these so you’ll find several colorful versions in the New Life Jewelry Art studio at ArtFire soon.

Another addition to the ArtFire studio will be this magnificent lampwork necklace in lush browns. The chain is vintage and just the right tones for this wire-wrapped glass focal.

The dramatic gold heart is a great contrast to the more delicate blue and white swirls of the glass beads.
