Beautiful blue freshwater pearl "eggs" adorn sterling silver bird's nest earrings in today's great jewelry find. This messy (yet very controlled) wire wrapping style has been gaining popularity and this lovely pair of handmade earrings are a great example of the design technique. Out of the Pink Sky sells her handcrafted jewelry on Etsy. Stop by and give her a heart!

Finishing our prep for Saturday's booth/show at the Reno Scion promotional event so I haven't had time to write too much. Mom and Sarah are visiting, too so we've been working together to create several new wedding necklaces and learn some new techniques.

Jewelry Business Dreams & Mother’s Day Gifts

Saw this quote today and really thought this captured my feelings lately. I've been putting in the hours online to promote Rose of Sharon Jewelry all over the web. I am working the dream - of being profitable, being recognized, being able to share handmade jewelry that brings joy and beauty into women's lives. For a long time, I felt like I had lost the passion but it took some personal life changes to open my eyes and more importantly my heart. I'm embracing the wonderfulness of being able to create my life in my own image. Enough rambling and on to showing you a few pics I'm working on for the upcoming newsletter.

Golden Moonlight Necklace – Handmade Sunshine for Spring

Dawn and I reshot one of my all-time favorites from Sandra Lee - Golden Moonlight. This elegant handmade necklace has a well-balanced asymmetrical design using beautiful sun yellow quartz flattened coin shaped beads, clear crystal spacers and three magnificent golf-ball style multi-faceted round deep yellow crystal focal beads. Whew - what a mouthful - but the necklace does take your breath away even without any extra words.

The matching earrings bring the crystal's natural glow up to your face - a great way to enhance your skin and hair!

Just received a box with 17 new necklace sets from Sandra. She certainly has her own distinct artistic style. You'll immediately see what I mean- you can spot her elegant jewelry creations without any name attached. Sandra lives in Houston so we only get to work in together in my beading/photo studio for about 5 weeks a year. We collect beads together and share our growing inventory so I never know how she'll combine them. It always amazes me how two different handmade jewelry designers can take the same beads and come up with totally different creations.

Recession or not – I want great wedding jewelry!

The Recession sure is a wet blanket - ruins your day doesn't it. But weddings are still going on and wedding jewelry is still a big must. That's my theory anyway. As a jewelry designer that loves to create wedding necklaces and earrings with magnificent Swarovski crystals, I'd doubt that brides are going without jewelry. Am I right?
