Testing 1, 2, 3

Live Writer 2011 is awesome! I discovered this free Microsoft program when I started the Rose of Sharon Jewelry blog but this new version is a great improvement. In fact, I upgraded my PCs just to have Win 7 that the new version requires.

This is my first official test post so I can check out all the features and plug-ins.

If all goes well, I’ll be writing daily so keep tuned in to see what’s up with Rose of Sharon Jewelry and the Fullen family.

Starting Family Time

Mom is arriving this afternoon for Thanksgiving.  We’ve got plenty of beading projects planned. Mom even had to get another rolling suitcase to bring all the beads!

Our goal is to 1) not become consumed with taking product photos; 2) make some wedding jewelry for a potential April wedding fair and 3) master some new jewelry making techniques.

Mom is great a learning new things as she never gives up until she masters it. Me – I have limits and tend to tuck things away and try again later. That’s why I have a dedicated work-in-progress bin which is always full.

Wedding jewelry isn’t just white pearls any longer. Splashes of colorful crystals along with all the shades of ivory, creams and peaches. I promise show off some of our newest creations in upcoming posts.

If you’re interested in a custom design for your upcoming nuptials, we’d be glad to bring your dream to reality! Contact Sharon for information on custom handmade wedding jewelry.

I’ll try to sneak off early each morning to share some creative insights and write new blog posts – but mostly I’ll be enjoying Mom’s visit.

Voting Success – A Great Day at the Polls

Spent Election Day working at a local voting polling place. Excellent turn-out and we defected extremist Sharron Angle!

Long day ensuring everyone got to exercise their right to vote so today I’m resting up and catching up.

See you at Facebook today at Sharon Fullen and Rose of Sharon Jewelry Facebook Fan Page !

P. S. Congrats to Harry Reid – he may not be the most dynamic politician but he represents Nevada to the best of his ability and he does what he believes is the best for us and for the country.

Currently we are accepting nominations for the Tahoe Emigrant Corridor which includes all or parts of Douglas, Washoe, Carson City, El Dorado, Nevada and Placer Counties.

1 Day Older and A Lot Wiser

Yesterday, I turned 56. Being well over 30 (the age of distrust when I was young), is actually a pretty good thing. Aside from a few worn parts, I’m loving what 56 brings.

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone! This afternoon we’ll be having my party. Lots of BBQ ribs and homemade potato salad and most of all my family.

Being older does mean being wiser. I’m really loving blogging and sharing all the different ideas and information that are bumping around in my brain and hope that you enjoy listening and sharing.

Hopefully you’re enjoying becoming wiser and 1 day older every day.

Still Blogging Away – Back Online

The Rose of Sharon Jewelry blog is back online after a couple of days during the transfer to a new host. Thursday’s post on our rabble rousing Founding Fathers appeared for a while but was lost in the transfer and is not recoverable.

Thanks for your patience.
