Tantrum Tuesday Becomes Tantalizing Tuesday

Tantrum Tues. posts are moving to my writing blog at Writes a Lot.com. At the ROSJ blog, it’s now Tantalizing Tuesday – mouthwatering, juicy posts that add sweetness, spice and passion to life!

I love writing the Tantrum Tuesday rants but I decided in the shower this morning (I do some of my best thinking there) that the Rose of Sharon Jewelry blog should totally focus on the positive.

Tantalizing Tuesday will be just as interesting (hopefully you’ll agree) as I talk about jewelry (of course!) and other topics that make life more joyous, more beautiful and more exciting!

The first Tantalizing Tuesday post will appear later this morning!

tantrum_tuesday If you’d like to keep up with my tantrums and rants, I’d love to have you become a Writes a Lot blog subscriber.

You won’t be bombarded with daily posts but what you’ll find there will be worth an occasional quick read.

If you love to write or are interested in a writing career, I’ll be having conversations about the business, creative and personal aspects of being a writer/blogger.

Thanks everyone for all your support of Tantrum Tuesday – I’ll keep stomping my feet just in another location!

Facelift Coming for Rose of Sharon Jewelry Blog

It’s time for a facelift on the Rose of Sharon Jewelry blog. I’m a big believer in change (loving my new bronze/red hair), and the  blog needs a new look!

I love the color scheme but this Wordpress theme was never the best for functionality and readability for us old gals. The change will be an all or nothing swap-out so as to not create too much havoc with readers but beware some things will go wrong as they always do with computers.

Topic Schedule To Be Introduced Soon

A more important part of the blog refresh is a topic schedule. This will help keep me on track and readers will know what day they can find their favorite topics.

I am not a linear person so posts are often just what grabs my attention that day and sometimes it gets written in the wee hours (not a good thing if you want to make sense). Now when I say a schedule, I don’t mean something rigid and non-creative!

I’m dividing the topic categories over the week as follows (I reserve the right to change my mind before an “official” announcement is made and I am open to suggestions and help).

  1. Mellow Monday – all things creative, peaceful, Zen-like and positive – a great way to set a positive path for the week.
  2. Tantrum Tuesday – ramblings, rants, raves and things that make you say “you’ve got to be kidding”. I have to admit I’m excited about Tuesday as I’m never without an opinion or comment. Laughs will be encouraged on Tuesdays because you have to laugh or go crazy.
  3. Wednesday Wealth – sharing a wealth of information on adding “wealth” to your life – emotionally, physically and financially.
  4. Thankful Thursday – things to be thankful for such as family, friends and food. I’ll share my other creative adventures beside jewelry on Thursdays too.
  5. Friday Finds – posts on handmade finds have always been popular for readers and me so I’ll continue to share what others are making
  6. “Sharon” Saturday – all things related to Rose of Sharon Jewelry – got to plug our love of beads and great jewelry products and Saturday seems like a great day to do just that. Don;t worry I’ll still share new releases on other days when I just cannot wait!
  7. Silent Sunday – and on the 7th day She rested! Most Sundays will be postless (is that a word?) but you may find an inspirational quote or a great photo on Sunday

I’d love to hear your ideas for topics/categories/rants/finds etc. Comment below please or leave a message on the Rose of Sharon Jewelry Facebook Fan Page.

The jewelry care series will continue tomorrow (Thursday) if you are wondering.

One Lovely Blog Award – Joyful Rewards

I've gotten some lovely replies to my passing the One Lovely Blog award on to others. It has been a wonderful experience that is repaying me in ways that I never anticipated. It has been a real joy to meet so many great talents and wonderful women through this award.

I Won the One Lovely Blog Award Today

This morning amidst all the annoying SPAM in my inbox was a wonderful note from Shazzabeth Creations telling me she awarded the Rose of Sharon Jewelry Blog a One Lovely Blog Award. One Lovely Blog

In a recent post, I featured Sharon’s magnificent chainmaille work and her blog after discovering her Etsy store – Shazzabeth Creations.  So this is high praise – guess I’ll have to wear my tiara today to celebrate.

Today she was busy selecting me and 14 other bloggers to recognize our blogging efforts and,  of course, our creative talents.

I was already familiar with some of the other award winners but really enjoyed getting to know other great talents.  So don’t forget to click over to her original post - One Lovely Blog Award to check all the other honorees out.

The One Lovely Blog Award was  new to me; but it is not only an honor (doesn’t everyone say that?) but it is also a great way for artisan bloggers to support each other. Lifting someone above the Web’s never-ending noise (it reminds me of that buzzing in the movie The Fly) for recognition is a great reward, too.

As an honoree, my duties include sharing 15 favorite and newly discovered blogs and passing the One Lovely Blog Award on to them.

And presenting the next round of the One Lovely Blog Award is Sharon Fullen.

The envelope, please:

I’ve included some regular favorites and then I took the time to wander the Web (breadcrumbs, anyone?) searching out some great new favorites. Now off to announce the great news to each recipient.

Don’t forget to come back and leave some comments on your favorites. Pay it forward!
