Elizabeth Warren is Looking Out for Us: Thankful Thursday
Today I’m thankful for Elizabeth Warren, Law Professor & bankruptcy expert, wants to look out for consumers. She the current frontrunner to lead the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Warren was selected from Harvard academia to chair the Congressional Oversight Panel over the bank bailout. Appearing regularly on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show. She has shown herself to be a practical, thoughtful consumer advocate – the perfect choice for the newly created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She’s not someone in the pocket of the banks or big business – she stands up for consumers!
I’d like to share a recent Democracy Now video where she discusses what’s needed to run the bureau and exactly what consumers need to defend themselves against the powerful lobbyist industries who don’t have our best interest in mind!

This post was written before President Obama decided to appoint her as an “advisor” in creating the new bureau so he could get her onboard quickly without Congressional confirmation. Hope this strategy works. It seems like she’s the right person for the job as a lot of Fat Cat politicians and lobbiests are talking “smack” about her already.
