Love for More than Just a Day
For those of you who don't know, Arden and I have been together for almost 33 years - that's a lot of Valentine's Days. We've always been pretty nonchalant when it comes to remembering holidays. In fact, we've forgotten our wedding anniversary most years. One year, Arden was in the hospital recovering from lung cancer surgery; another, we were driving to the grocery store when we realized what day it was - our total celebration was a good laugh! We married in December so Christmas usually is foremost in our minds.
Early in our relationship, I got a bit miffed when Arden overlooked an "important" day. A friend rebuked and reminded me "you wouldn't want it any other way." You see I have a husband who does what he says; is always there for me; treats me special just because he loves me; thinks of me first and is my best friend. He doesn't just give me roses - he plants rose bushes in the rocky soil. He doesn't just give me candy - he helps me make the batch. He doesn't just tell me to buy a new shirt - he spends hours shopping with me to find the right one that hides my overly round stomach.
Whether you and your partner have been together for a few months or decades - take time today to remember the love you receive all though the year and do the same for him or her!
A special Valentine hug and kiss for Hunter, Kael and Orion. Grandpa and I are looking forward to you spending the night with us so Mom and Dad can have a kid-free romantic evening.
Thanks for stopping by again. Don't forget to check out the newest releases in the Rose of Sharon Jewelry store.
