Bonding at Its Best

Last night was bonding time with Hunter (11 going on 16) as we had a second Christmas. That is we spent the last of the gift cards and certificates. Hunter had $70 to spend and a one lb. certificate from See's Candy. The See's gift certificate was what he "won" during our traditional crazy gift exchange. Most people ended up with weird or silly gifts but Hunter got the candy!

We discovered a great game store - Play N Trade, which sells new and used games. Hunter scored a great new Xbox 360 release, The Prince of Persia. The used cost was less than half that of a new one at Best Buy. Hunter got to test drive the game at the store and didn't want to stop! It is so much fun to see him be so pleased at getting such a great deal!

Next stop the local See's store where he took plenty of time (and a few taste tests) to select a great assortment of milk chocolate goodies. He even got me one of my favorites as a thank you.

On these bonding adventures, Hunter gets to pick the restaurant. He has a great palate and loves to eat all kinds of food. Tonight was steaks at Outback. He ordered a big one and was pleased to take the leftover home for a late night snack. Game playing makes you hungry.

After getting stuffed, we went to Scheels's (one of the largest sporting good stores in the world) and headed straight to the weight lifting department. Hunter is into getting into good shape (he always makes a point of showing off his biceps whenever he comes over). He checked out all the heavy weights. Tiny guy - big weights. Ha! But what caught his eye is one of those TV products for doing push-ups. He was thrilled as it was on sale and he had just enough Christmas money to take the box home.

Had to get Hunter back home quick as he had to have some time to play his new game before hitting the sack! I got to go home and savor my piece of candy. Delicious evening - God it's great to be a Grandma.
